I am Kervin, a Christian father of two boys (enrolled in Grade 5) who have essentially been homeschooled from Grade R. For me and my wife, homeschool became a valid fallback option when we could not gain access to a worthy Christian school. The two local independent schools we knew touted as Christian centred were unsatisfactory on a doctrinal level. While we never really afforded online based Christian schools.
No, the overall homeschooling walk has not entirely been smooth as we, overtime, (after having failed to avail registration with the DBE due to an intimidation received through a provincial office staff member) went from constantly fearing for prosecution to actually being found out by social workers and had our two minors boys dreadfully removed from under our care to a CYCC for over 3 months, from 29 January 2024. Yes, we had a membership with one organisation that offers home education legal defence in South Africa from discovery (around Just 2022) through removal (in January 2024) to the kids’ return in April the same year.
Yes, they are, at present, formally registered for homeschool with the DBE. More details about our challenged homeschool journey should be published as an e-book, possibly over the next coming weeks (pending facts-checking).
We strongly feel that going through blatantly trying times such as that could be a lot bearable with access to Christ-Centred education supporters for those parents who opt to homeschool primarily for Christian-Centred reasons – which is one perceived gap we seek to occupy. And as well, we feel our trauma experience can greatly benefit/embolden, particularly aspiring Christian parents looking to embark on the homeschooling journey (as summarised here). More on how we seek to empower Christian home education here.
About the founder,

Christian background
I have been in the Christian faith from around 2009 and believe to have an explicit private prayer ministry – where in I, amongst other prayers, gloriously pray in groans that cannot be uttered. I also have since then consumed lots of Christian literature from historic Christians writers such as George Muller, John Wesley, David Brainerd, Jonathan Edward, Leonard Ravenhill, Duncan Campbell, Charles G Finney, Evan Roberts, etc – from sources such SermonIndex.net. Amongst other subjects, I have read extensively on/about revivals of religion, and dream about seeing a widespread local revival or awakening.
Academic background
I have promisingly progressed to the University Of Limpopo to become a Chattered Accounted but dropped out around the third year to pursue Christian ministry (in 2009) – not very long after I was savingly awakened to the Christian truths.
Occupational background
Despite my commercial background, I now happen to be a self-taught C# programmer who tries to development Christian wholesome applications and systems for mobile devices and PC. My main project at the moment is the K53 Simulator (a 3D sandbox or interactive virtual platform for practicing South African K53 driving principles)
